Clear Measure Names Chief Architect, Hires Principal Software
Engineers
Addresses Growing Need for Custom Software Solutions
AUSTIN, TX, March 30, 2015 – Clear Measure, Inc., a leading provider of
custom software engineering services that help companies achieve
measurable results, has announced that it has promoted Andrew Siemer to
chief architect and hired three principal software engineers, James Kovacs,
Donald Belcham and Kyle Baley.
These appointments are part of a hiring trend at the company to meet the
growing market demand for custom software, as the company helps
customers develop, deploy and operate custom solutions addressing some of
the most critical challenges in IT – including moving applications to the
cloud, modernizing legacy systems, building e-commerce platforms and
more.
Jeffrey Palermo, Clear Measure’s CEO, said, “Andy has been an invaluable
contributor since he joined the company last year, and we are pleased that
James, Donald and Kyle are coming on board and bringing critical expertise
to our software engineering team.
“When people ask me what is different about Clear Measure, I tell them that
we’re not a consulting company or a staffing company. We are a business-
focused software engineering firm that values the key contributions of our
team members. They are the company and are integral to our success in
developing technology solutions that address our customers’ business
problems. This focus makes all the difference, and has enabled us to hire
and retain a very talented team of experts,” Palermo said.
Siemer, former chief architect and engineering director at Dell, joined Clear
Measure in 2014 as a principal architect. He has an extensive background in
database-driven web applications, primarily on social networking and e-
commerce platforms, and focuses on developing solutions based on
Microsoft technologies.
Kovacs is the developer of psake, a PowerShell-based build automation tool.
He is passionate about sharing his knowledge of OO, SOLID, TDD/BDD,
testing, object-relational mapping, dependency injection, refactoring,
continuous integration, and related techniques. In addition to blogging on
CodeBetter.com and his own blog, Kovacs is a technical contributor for
Pluralsight, writes articles for MSDN Magazine and CoDe Magazine, and is a
frequent speaker at conferences and user groups. Additionally, he is a Track
Chair for DevTeach, one of Canada’s largest independent developer
conferences. Kovacs received his bachelor’s degree from the University of
Toronto and his master’s degree from Harvard University.
Belcham and Baley are co-authors of the book “Brownfield Application
Development in .NET.” With over 10 years in the software development
industry, Belcham is considered among the most respected members of the
.NET software development community. He has extensive knowledge and
understanding of the .NET Framework. The depth of his expertise and
community commitment has enabled him to achieve Microsoft MVP status.
In addition to mentoring and training other software professionals, Belcham
is an active speaker at user groups and code camps throughout western
Canada and conferences around the world.
Baley comes to Clear Measure with more than 15 years of broad software
experience, including automated testing, continuous integration, and test-
driven design. He holds dual degrees from the University of Manitoba in
computer science and actuarial science. Previously, Baley was head of
product development at an online scheduling software company.
